Late night hours are often my most productive. When the house finally goes to sleep, my creative juices start to pump away.

Without the normal interruptions of the day, my mind becomes laser focused on the tasks at hand.

The time slips away so quickly and I’m always shocked to realize it is 3, 4 or 5 o’clock in the morning.

Tomorrow is a new day… it is already here.

I’m going to try and catch a few hours sleep before the house wakes up and we do it all over again.

Good night to you.

Sleep tight.

Do you have a favorite Christmas song?

There are a lot of great songs that I love listening to at Christmas time.

I love Frank Loesser’s 1944 duet, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”. My 8 year old daughter knows all the words to the song… “well, maybe just a cigarette more…”

Another favorite is “Little Drummer Boy” by White Heart. Dude, that Rick Florian can scream! Not bad for a roadie turned lead singer.

Even though I Love The 80′s, you’ve got to admit – that version is good in any decade.

My absolute favorite Christmas Song of all-time is the traditional “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”. If you think about it, the title of the song is something of a conundrum (a riddle whose answer is or involves a pun).

Everyone knows that the name Emmanuel means “God with us”. Yet, the song begs, pleads and implores the maker of the universe to “come”.

Have you ever felt that way too?

Yes, I know that God is with me, but my soul cries out for a deeper, closer, more intimate relationship. I long to know more about the one who knows me best – the one who knit me together in my mother’s womb – the one who ordained all of my days.

In a few minutes I’ll be loading up the family for the annual Christmas service at church. We probably won’t be singing any Christmas songs because the keyboard player (me) and the guitar player aren’t very good… Christmas songs are hard! I’m sure the drum machine could wing it though.

So, I’m going to sign off today’s post with the words to my favorite Christmas song, “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”:

O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan’s tyranny
From depths of Hell Thy people save
And give them victory o’er the grave
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, O come, Thou Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai’s height,
In ancient times did’st give the Law,
In cloud, and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

They’re advertising their new weight loss classes. Seems like a good thing to do. I’ve got nothing against folks getting healthy. As a matter of fact, you should really put down that snack because it’s killing you!

Here’s my problem with advertising for weight loss. Don’t tell me I’m gonna have to eat all that junk featured on the front of your postcard. Besides, I’ve already tried grapefruit, and I’m 100% positive that I HATE IT!

That’s no way to sell weight loss. You gotta let people know that it’s gonna be easy, you’ll lose it magically in your sleep… with very little to no effort at all.

Don’t tell them they have to eat fruit and go to the hospital!!!

I’d be willing to bet a new fence that they don’t fill that classroom up. Furthermore, I bet they never mail that postcard again.

Stay Hungry,

Don’t know anything about the author, Drew Eric Whitman, but I did recognize the name of the person endorsing the book on the front cover – Roger Dawson. I think he’s the guy who has all those tape collections that I never buy while at Half Price Books.

Here’s some quick bullet points from the back of the book:

- Sixty percent of people read only headlines.
- Captions under photos get 200 percent greater readership than non-headline copy.
- Ads with sale prices draw 20 percent more attention.
- Four-color ads are up to 45 percent more effective than black and white.

In this video, you’ll learn the (3) components of the Google PPC Quality Score. Here’s a quick breakdown, along with a few of my paranthetical notes, if you don’t have time to watch the entire video:

#1 Click Thru Rate (Biggest Component of Google PPC Quality Score)

Searchers vote with their clicks – letting Google know what PPC ads are best for their search query. User feedback has always been important to Google. How a user clicks (votes) is a key decision making determinant of Quality Score.

#2 Relevancy (Next Largest Component of Google PPC Quality Score)

More specifically, the relevancy of the keywords in the users search query as they relate to your Ad Copy – Google determines relevancy by determining how well your ads relate to keywords, and to make sure only useful ads are served to their users.

#3 Landing Page Quality (Final Component of Google PPC Quality Score)

The landing page should help the user find the information they want. A high quality landing page should have relevant, original content. The landing page should be easy to navigate and quick to load. Also, it should be transparant about the nature of the business (about us, contact us, address information), how the site interacts with it’s visitors (privacy policy) and how you intend to use the visitor’s information.
