In this video, you’ll learn the (3) components of the Google PPC Quality Score. Here’s a quick breakdown, along with a few of my paranthetical notes, if you don’t have time to watch the entire video:

#1 Click Thru Rate (Biggest Component of Google PPC Quality Score)

Searchers vote with their clicks – letting Google know what PPC ads are best for their search query. User feedback has always been important to Google. How a user clicks (votes) is a key decision making determinant of Quality Score.

#2 Relevancy (Next Largest Component of Google PPC Quality Score)

More specifically, the relevancy of the keywords in the users search query as they relate to your Ad Copy – Google determines relevancy by determining how well your ads relate to keywords, and to make sure only useful ads are served to their users.

#3 Landing Page Quality (Final Component of Google PPC Quality Score)

The landing page should help the user find the information they want. A high quality landing page should have relevant, original content. The landing page should be easy to navigate and quick to load. Also, it should be transparant about the nature of the business (about us, contact us, address information), how the site interacts with it’s visitors (privacy policy) and how you intend to use the visitor’s information.

In my last post about selling to the rich and affluent, I started out talking about my fear of approaching the wealthy because I grew up with my fair share of financial challenges.

My family wasn’t poverty poor, but I remember enough to tell you what government cheese tastes like.

I read somewhere else that this is called a “scarcity mindset”. Fortunately, you can overcome that mindset because…

Selling to the rich has so much less to do with where you are financially and so much more to do with where you’re affluent prospect wants to be.

Listen, I understand that it is sometimes difficult to focus on anything outside of what you are currently experiencing as a result of your financial limitations. That is your world. You are consumed by what impacts you. You constantly ask yourself, “Where am I going to get the money to cover these expenses?”

In the same way, your rich prospect also finds it difficult to focus on anything outside of what they are currently experiencing as a result of the financial position they are in. That is their world. They are consumed with thoughts of, “How do I keep what I have worked so hard to enjoy? How can I enjoy it more without losing what I have?”

“You are the one who is concerned about your station in life… your prospect spends very little time worrying about your position.”

The answer to the following story may seem very cynical, but I want you to read this parable and then consider what the answer may be. If you aren’t able to come up with the answer, I’ll reveal it in a later post. Okay, read this story now…

A wealthy man finds himself walking down the street of a major metropolitan city. He is “forced to walk” because he’s unwilling to pay a cab driver a few measly bucks to drive him to the convention center – three blocks away.

The sky is blue, the birds are singing. He has a prosperous day planned and is focused on closing a big deal later that morning.

While walking, he looks ahead to see a homeless man sitting among his dirty possessions while holding a cardboard sign that reads, “Hungry – Please help!”.

He momentarily considers crossing the street, but instead reaches into his right-hand, front pocket feeling for any change he may have salvaged from last night’s run to the hotel convenience store.

In that moment, he makes his buying decision… he quickly drops a few coins into the lap of our hungry begger as he scurries past the stench.

Here’s the million dollar question – WHY?

If you can understand why our rich, affluent, prosperous, wealthy lead character would stop and give this smelly, dirty begger his left-over change, you can understand how to sell the rich and affluent.

Here’s a hint:

“You’re the one focused on your limitations… your prospects are focused on your possibilities.”

Peace,
Mike

I often get asked, “Why should I spend money when Google Analytics is Free“.

[Note To Google: I enjoy all the free Google stuff... especially the analytics. Dallas SEO wouldn't be the same without all that good data! ]

However, there are many things that your Free Google Analytics account will not do. What are they? I’m glad you asked!

Google Analytics Is Just A Reporting Tool
Sure, there are some nice PPC reporting features (i.e. keyword, creative copy, search vs. content network) you can integrate into your analytics reporting. No doubt about it. That’s what makes it such a bargain.

No Bid Management Platform
You need to be able to manage your PPC campaigns efficiently, effectively and profitably. While you can login to your AdWords account and make time-consuming manual updates or use the latest desktop AdWords editor, there are other (read: better) PPC managment options. That will allow you more control over your ROI. You need to have:

Real-time conversion tracking & reporting

Bid rules that auto-adjust to meet your ROI requirements

Portfolio bidding to maximize your profits

You can have the nicest car in the world, but if you don’t know how to drive, that car will just sit in your driveway.

Google Analytics gives you some of the most valuable data you need to manage your PPC campaign, but it won’t tell you what the numbers mean and it won’t do the work for you. That requires professional help.

No Professional Copy Writing
When you combine your AdWords account with your Analytics account, you can see which ad copy performed best for you, but it won’t write the ads. It won’t be able to draw on years of best-practices to help you jump the learning curve and start turning a profit as quickly as possible.

No Keyword Profitability Research
You can use the free Google keyword tool in your AdWords account to find keywords, but Google won’t tell you if that keyword is likely to be profitable. There’s no way to do ad-hoc analysis with Google’s keyword tool. For that, you need someone that has years of conversion tracking keyword research available at their fingertips.

No Easy Integration for 3rd Party PPC Campaigns
Let’s face it, you don’t really want to give Google all of your campaign data for your Yahoo!, MSN, 7Search, SuperPages, etc. data… do you? Even if you wanted to, do you have the time to hack all of those URL’s? My guess is probably not!

I’ve got several more reasons to upgrage to a professional reporting tool, but I’ll stop there and give you my final analyis now.

Final Analysis
I would suggest you go sign up for your Free Google Analytics account right now. You’ll find out tons of interesting and potentially helpful information about your SEO and PPC campaigns.

If you want to get serious about your search engine marketing, pay for a professional to manage your campaign. You’ll get professional tools, excellent reporting and creative analysis to help you propel your marketing to the next level.

Peace,
Mike
